There is an older song also titled 'Stand by me" from the soundtrack of same movie.I thought it was the same song before I watched the video. He is quite OK, not too much of British acent in that song, which I bloody dilike.
Have you seen that old movie "Stand by me" yet? I like it a lot, so does the song.
Yeah, I know the song. "Stand By Me" in 80's.(When the night has come...blabla) I liked that song too when I was in junior high.
Many British singers do not present their accent when they sing. I do not particularly like British accent, but I do like hunky men with a low sexy voice.
By the way, I didn't see that movie before. What's that about? Maybe I 'll do some research then...
Nice to hear from you, Han.
There were some big stars in that movie, like Keifer Sutherland and River Phoenix, who died years ago from drug overdose but his brother, Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the line) is kind of famous now. Rent it, you will like it.
Have you read Vincent's most recent article, Hypocracy? Man, he is a very strong minded guy, isn't he? I like that article but I think there are always good guys and bad guys in every group. For example, as much as I dislike DPP, the ruling party in Taiwan, I can't deny that there are still few good figures in that party.
People are entitled to have their own opinions and you can either agree or disgree. In the end, we are responsible for the way we are living now.
When I read your blog, I feel very fresh. I appreciate your honesty and sincerity. I feel that some blogs from overseas Taiwanese gay guys(few are under your links) are somehow phony and often like to show off their lives between the lines.
I am particular impressed with your English ability. I don't know how well you speak it but your writing skill is far more superior then that of most of the Chinese I know here( and you are not even living in any English speaking country). Is that because you have some particular desires toward White guys? Anyway, you should be very proud of yourself.^_^ I can totally understand that you want to go abroad and see some really hot White guys in person someday. I was like that when I was in Taiwan. Sometimes, I see you as a younger me (ok, a much younger me), except I don't follow any organized religion but have my own beliefs.
You should check one of my comments in Vincent's article, 你愛打手槍嗎. That pretty summed up my opinion.
Have a nice weekend.
Thank you for your compliment, and I reviewed your comment in that article. I appreciate your comment supporting my original idea. I did feel upset that Vincent kept mocking Christianity by all means, however, I respect his point of view. I am just worried about people may miss the authenticity and core value from the Christ.
Once again, I realized that shouldn't be my concern, which God will do His job to attract people toward Him. I just need to take good care of myself, and that'd be enough.
About my English ability, I think I still need to enlarge my vocabulary and practice it often. I hope I can find a new job that can offer me to work oversea, and then I can fulfill my dream. Teaching kids English is a good experience so far, but I need something more sufficient to practice.
It's very nice to hear from you again, and it's also a very good English practice for me to write you back.
Have a nice week.
J, I just left a very LONG comment in Vincent's most recent article,Hypocracy. I think I understand both you and V's point of view. There is no Right or Wrong in it. We are different and that's all, just like I don't understand why there are people believing in organized religion so much.
All I want is to win the Lotto Jackpot so I can retire.
By the way, can you post more racy pics in your blog? ^-^
Very precise and inspiring comment that I've ever read.
Are you a professor or genius person who is totally able to drown people's trouble and difficulties with your overwhelming point of views? Honestly, if I were that kind of guy who'd only pursue Platonic love or intellectual charms, you would completely win my heart over!
OK, cut off the flattery. What I want to say is that I am so happy to know there is someone who is able to speak out my heart. I don't know how Vincent would response with your comment, however, it doesn't matter anyhow. You are just incredible.
At last, according to your request," the racy pics!" I do have many of them. What's your definition of RACY pics? ARTISTIC or CARNAL ones? I tried to put less cock pictures, but it would be fine sometimes having a glance of them, wouldn't it?
(((fLUSHED)))^_^
Vincent is one of the few non-American here who has such a thorough knowledge about American Politics and Culture. I am very impressed with his writing style both in Chinese and English. Beleive it or not, he and I pay more attention to the current events then most of the Americans do. As for me, I am just a regular salary man working in the business field for a small local company. Although, sometimes,I do feel that I am good at listening other people's conversation and try to analyze it. I can be stubborn and opinionated sometimes, according to my partner, especially when it comes to Politics. But I try to keep my head balanced. However, if you lean more to Republican (US)or DPP (Taiwan) then it's better for us not to talk about Politics. ^_^
I noticed that you sometimes use British words in your article, which I think it's interesting, because American English is more popular in Taiwan, isn't it?
The new pic you posted is racy and I like it! How about some in actions or film? Haha...just kidding. I am glad that you decide to come out. I haven't done so to my family yet(check up my most recent comment in Faliziz's). It's very hard for Chinese to do so since we are more intravert, culturally speaking. We rarely say "I love you" to significiant others. It's just not suitable in Chinese language, isn't it? But we do have a closer family tie then that of average Amerian's.
I really admire your courage to do so and wish you the best!
By the way, your blog format is not as user friendly as some other blogs in Taiwan, like the one of Vincent's or Falizizi's. Consider moving?
British English? I have to admit that I haven't developed the sense of English recognition from different local usages. I think the reason is because I haven't been to and stayed in an English-spoken country before. But, I do have highly interests in acquainting with different English usages.
For your question of none-user-friendly blog of mine, I don't feel any trouble using it. Can you speak more specifically about what is not user-friendly for you at all? Cause I have checked up some blogers' new place, and I can't see any differences from their old blogs. Maybe the sever speed is faster or editing system is better? but for a viewer, I don't feel any difference, am I right?
About the "come out" thing, I still have to admit it's not any gay's cup of tea. But I try to convince myself that it's better than not doing so. For me, being an opened and honest person really can help me move on my life, at least, I can feel free and comfortable to date guys after coming out around. When friends around me see me with a guy, they can have a choice to bless us, best of it, I don't have to lie to them or make some lousy stories.
When I was having the AWARENESS class, my supporter and also my consultant told me a releasing concept,
"Once you open up and let out your own secret, a secret will be no secret, or at least, it will not be your own secret but everyone's."
That's when I felt that I don't want to keep the secret anymore. Actually, it's a very selfish motive that I only want myself to be happy since ever and after. I only take the responsibility for myself, so there is some time I'd worry about hurting others by telling truth or showing the true color of me. Obviously, I was thinking too much... According to the result so far, people feel happy and better to know the new and real me. That's the encouragement making me go ahead and move on. I believe I am a nice person, and sexuality won't change it a bit. Moreover, if I am afraid to show my true self, I don't think I'll get any chance for people to discover me, the GOOD of me.
I have a wish that every gay people can have their true color living in front of other people and God. That's something I really want to achieve and help it happen.
Embrace yourself, my brothers. I really like to chat with you, han
Actually, some Chinese here don't even speak too much English, let alone distinguish different types of English. Beleive me, your Englsih is better then that of most of the Chinese/Taiwanese bloggers here. Let me tell you one thing: being living in an English-speaking country doesn't guarantee you a better English ability. A lot of Chinese feel more comfortable to watch Chinese TV shows(satellite), read Chinese News/books at home and the only occasion to use English is at work, which is quite limited for most of them since they all work in the computer field ^_^. Being able to speak a language is quite different from possessing a professional knowledge in that language.
Is your teaching job full time or part time? My 9 yr old niece has Engish classes two times a week after school. My partner was suprised to see how competitive it is for kids in Taiwan to learn so many things at such a young age. My 6 yr old nephew already knew some math calculations and it just blew his mind away! Last Nov when we were in Taipei, about 10:00 pm, we happened to be around the Train station area and we saw a sea of students coming out of some buildings and I told him most of them just finished their "cram class" and were about to go home. He wouldn't believe me at first. I told him, yeah, that's what we need to do to survive here. And yet, the salary level in Taiwan is probably half of that here in the US. Make sure you vote for the right person next time. ^_^
I think one of the most important functions of Blog is to exchange thoughts. I like the format that you can see who make comments on the main menu right away. Your blog doesn't seem to have this function.
As for my "coming out". I am out everywhere except to my family. I usually see them once every 18 months or so. I fully understand the benefits of coming out. I guess I just need to be bold and get it over with. Oh well...>_<"
Hopefully, I will see you when I go back to Taiwan next time. (probably around the Presidential Election in 2008)
Han
Your niece sounds like one of my students. Yeah, all of our students have English classes two times a week. So far, my job is a full-time teaching job. I have to decide to renew my contract or hunt for another job by this April. I really want to find a job like oversea salesperson or international merchandise staff. Just in any chance to work oversea once for a while, but so far I don't have any idea or connection about this. I think I need to do some homework and research for my next job.
I don't hate my current job. I just feel that this job could not fit my expectation to be as a career.
By the way, where do you live and work now? in the US? Maybe you can share the true feeling of working abroad with me. Maybe it's not as wonderful as I thought it is, is it?
And no problem, when you come back to Taiwan, I 'll be happy to meet you, my good friend who I've never seen before.
I live in Seattle. Work is work; it's much the same everywhere. Actually, I think Americans work too much compared with other industrialized conuntries. Because of Bush, the gap between Rich and Poor is getting bigger and bigger (same in Taiwan, thanks for the shamless and disgusting Chen and his family). Social injustice can be seen more and more. Well..I don't wanna talk too much about this. It makes me angry to think about it.
What's your acadamic background? Check this website:"Craigslist.org"
You can choose the city you like to look for, whether it's a job or merchandise.
As a foreigner, it's very hard for you to find a job here. US goverment makes it very difficult for people like you to get a job legally. The most convenient way is to get married or be an illegal worker and hope for Amnesty. The other way is to come here to study, get a sponsor for work after graduation and apply for Green Card. It takes a long time to complete the procedure. I came here in 93 and I just got my citizenship 2yrs ago.
Good luck with your job search and love your racy pics! ^_^
Ha, I never think I would find a job there. I just want to find a foreign branch company in Taiwan or a local Taiwan company which can offer me some chances to meet foreign clients or run some exhibition abroad...
Comparing to religion preference, I don't have much political position insistence. But man, calm down~ Glad to see you loving and caring Taiwan so much.
I am glad you like the "racy pics." I do believe gay people won't mind seeing these X-rated pictures. I hope few of my female/lesbian viewers can be cool with it.For us, a beautiful naked man with a nice cock is always hard to resist, isn't it.
I think we all feel passionate about something in life. Religion for you, Politics for me. Politics affects your life, whether you like it or not. Make sure you don't waste your right as a rightful citizen or you will be a victim of your own action. Just think about this: you said you want to find a job with foreign ties in Taiwan. Do you know how much foreign investment has dwindled and how bad the economic growth has been since DPP in power? Your chance and dream is lessen by the current ruling party in your country and that's why we should all pay attention to the current political events. It's your right/obligation and it's for your own good. I promise I won't preach you any more. Sorry, can't help it! ^_^
Yeah, it's weekend again. My car got some problems(need to get fixed), it will probably cost me a few hundred dollars this weekend. Sigh....>_<"
Yesterday, I got a postcard from China. It's from a friend in Kaohsiung who traveled to Yun-Nan provience at the beginning of this year. He has some incrediable articles at this website: http://www.anyway.com.tw/bookmark/diary_show.asp?dyrfnbr=41270&dymbnbr=86527
Check them out!
Ciao!
Han
Woo~ I like your friend's articles. It fascinates me big time. Traveling around, having lot's of time to kill and getting money to burn...An ideal life to spend on!
Speaking of cars, I think I'd better to get my driving license this year. I know it's pretty lame for a man who hasn't got a driving license in his nearly 30s. I have to say there is no desire to drive me to get one. I don't even know anything about cars... I know it's not a excuse, but I guess I am a born-gay person. I am not so man as a man should be, I mean knowing cars, sports, and mechanical stuffs... On the other hand, I don't know very well about fashion either. Poor me...
Can I be a normal man who likes to talk about sports, politics, cars, career ambition, and so on? I see those in some of my straight friends. I did feel embarrassed and frustrated when I found I couldn't cut into their topic in the conversation... Darn! How should I know which team won the game in NBA or MLB or world cup something? Even the athletes are cute and hot, I think I still haven't started to know them. I think I should start to get involved in some sport program. I think tennis is a choice to start, because most of tennis players are athletic white hunky men with model-like faces... Still begin in the wrong way, ha...
I think most men like to watch sports because they worship the power, speed, strength and the honor of the games. Too bad that I don't see it in this way so I think that's why I am not a sports person. Do you have a favorite sport? It doesn't mean you have to get involved in it or be good at it. My question is " Are gay people really like sport as straight guys?" I know it's a stupid question, cause we can find lot's of "come out" gay athletes. However, statistically I think it's few for gay as sport lovers. Am I right? or it's just a stereotype? I don't know...
Shin is amazing, isn't he? He might visit us this summer. We will see. I knew him from internet too. We met the first time when I visited my hometown, KHH, last Nov. We had a wonderful dinner and he invited us to his place after that. I think he works for a collegage and that's why he has a lot of vacation days.
It's a good idea to get a driver license even if you don't have a car. You never know when it will come in handy.
Just like you, I am not into sports, cars or mechanic stuff. Be who you are; no need to force yourself to like something just because other people do. My passion is in social justice and that's why I am into Politics so much.
However, I think having a common sense is important. For example, you don't need to follow NBA or Baseball league but at least, you should know there is a famous player, Ichiro of Mariners (Seattle) or 王建民. So you won't be totally in dark when people talk about it.
One more month before Chinese New Year. You guys are very lucky to have so many days off. I have to work. I will go to Vegas at the end of Feb. though. Vegas is one of the most popular vacation spots for us. We go there at least once a year. One year, we went there 3 times.
You can leave a message to Shin if you want. He is a very nice guy.
